Amnesty International Signs Iranian Embassy Sidewalk Full of Chalks

On Wednesday morning during a guerrilla campaign, human rights organisation Amnesty International drew 304 chalk contours of dead bodies on the doorstep of the Iranian embassy.

With the action, Amnesty is suing the many deaths that occurred in recent days in civil protests in Iran.

About 20 activists approached the Iranian embassy unannounced and armed with a cardboard silhouette and chalk.

The activists quietly drew the pavement in front of the embassy, full of chalk contours reminiscent of a “crime scene”. They symbolise the many Iranian civilians who were already killed in protests.

“Since November 15, 304 people have been killed, and thousands of people have been arrested for torture. Those are the people we have been able to confirm.

The number of deaths is likely to be much higher. For example, there are also minor children.
