Brazil Plans to Vaccinate All Residents in 2021
Brazilian Health Minister Eduardo Pazuello wants to have all residents of Brazil vaccinated against the coronavirus by 2021, he announced in a radio interview.
The candidate vaccines approved by health regulator Anvisae will be used for vaccination.
Earlier this week, Pazuello said that vaccinations in Brazil could “most likely” begin in January or February 2021.
The country of more than 200 million inhabitants has applied to vaccine maker Pfizer to receive 70 million doses of vaccine from January. The country has reserved a total of 300 million doses through various agreements.
Brazil has the third-highest number of confirmed corona infections in the world with 6.67 million and the second-highest death toll of 178,995.
