Denmark Extends Lockdown to the Whole Country

Denmark has extended the lockdown due to the coronavirus to the whole country.

According to television channel TV2, the measures that were previously in force in parts of the country are now being implemented everywhere. In this way, the country wants to prevent the number of infections from rising too high.

The measures were introduced last week and will last until January 3 at least.

Catering establishments, cultural places such as theatres and many schools have to close. Only the youngest children are allowed to go to school. Indoor sports locations and outdoor areas such as zoos will also be closed.

Denmark is one of the European countries, after Germany and the Netherlands, to introduce stricter measures shortly before Christmas against the rapidly increasing number of infections.
