Former Prime Minister Turkey comes with its Own Party
Former Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has set up a new party with which he wants to take on his former ally and current President Recep Erdogan.
A source around Davutoglu said Thursday.
The former prime minister, who was prime minister between 2014 and 2016, will officially announce the establishment of the Future party on Friday.
Davutoglu (60) and Erdogan were close allies until 2016. After Davutoglu criticised the economic policy of Erdogan’s AK party and the cancellation of local elections in Istanbul, the relationship cooled.
He was kicked out of the party in September but reported that he had given up membership.
