Reuters: Boeing Resumes Production of 737 MAX a Month After Strike

Sources told Reuters news agency that Boeing has resumed production of its best-selling aircraft, the 737 MAX. Production of the plane in the Seattle area had been halted since mid-September due to a strike.

The strike lasted more than seven weeks and ended more than a month ago after an agreement on a higher wage offer from the aircraft manufacturer.

Getting the 737 MAX production line going again is essential for recovering the troubled aircraft manufacturer.

The company suffered its most considerable quarterly loss since the coronavirus crisis, partly due to the strikes. Boeing has about 4,200 orders for the aircraft from airlines, which desperately need the planes to meet the growing global demand for air travel.

Production resumed last Friday, one of the sources said. Boeing itself declined to comment.
