Scottish Leader Receives Young Activists Thunberg and Nakate

Scottish leader Nicola Sturgeon had a conversation with climate activists Greta Thunberg and Vanessa Nakate during COP26. After the conversation, the prime minister said that young people should have listened carefully, British media write.

The BBC broadcast footage of the conversation between the 51-year-old Scottish leader and the young activists from Sweden and Uganda, who sat around a table. The conversation was about flooding in Scotland, among other things.

Eighteen-year-old Thunberg is one of the best-known climate activists worldwide. However, she says she has not received an official invitation to address the climate conference. However, that did not stop the Swedish teenager from travelling to the United Kingdom, where she is expected to participate in demonstrations.

Thunberg has already asked her millions of followers on Twitter to sign an open letter accusing governments of treason. The goal of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees from pre-industrial times would still be “catastrophically distant”. “And yet governments everywhere are making the crisis worse. They are spending billions on fossil fuels.”
