Undercover Report Shows Racism and Homophobia in British Politician Nigel Farage’s Campaign Team
An undercover report has captured racist and homophobic statements within the campaign team of British politician Nigel Farage, who is participating in the elections with his Reform UK party. Farage has kicked out the employees involved.
Channel 4 followed the campaign team in Farage’s home base of Clacton-on-Sea, in southeast England. The politician, who previously succeeded with a Brexit campaign, hopes to be elected on July 4.
The report features one of the party’s militants, Andrew Parker, calling Islam “the most disgusting sect”. He also calls for mosques to be turned into cafes and makes racist remarks about Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. In a conversation with a constituent, he suggests having army recruits shoot at migrant boats in the Channel.
Another employee, George Jones, was guilty of homophobic statements.
In a response to Channel 4, Farage said he was “stunned” by the statements and that those involved were no longer part of his campaign.
