The Spanish government has ordered a two-week quarantine for all travellers coming to the country from May 15.

The measure aims to curb the spread of the new coronavirus in the country.

Incoming travellers must stay at home or in their accommodation and may only go outside to do necessary shopping, go to health centres and in the event of an “emergency”.

In all these cases, a mask is mandatory.

Quarantine has been enforced on all travellers coming to Spain from May 15 and will remain in effect for as long as the state of emergency lasts.

The total number of coronavirus deaths in Spain has stood at 26,744 since Monday. The number of confirmed infections is 227,436.

Spain is the worst affected country after the United States.

In large parts of Spain, strict corona rules were relaxed a little further on Monday. In some regions, the terraces can open again. However, the major cities of Madrid and Barcelona have yet to wait.
