Buyer Scams Apple for Millions

Apple has reportedly been robbed of more than ten million dollars by a former employee. It concerns a purchaser who allegedly abused his position. The man has been charged with fraud in the United States.

 

As a buyer, the suspect negotiated with suppliers of Apple products, Reuters reported. For example, he placed orders with these parties and registered the corresponding invoices in the purchasing system, after which Apple paid the invoices.

The former employee is said to have accepted bribes, stolen parts using falsified repair orders and sent ghost invoices. In addition, the man would have been guilty of tax evasion and money laundering.

Two sellers who traded with the former Apple buyer were already convicted of money laundering and fraud in December. It concerns two suppliers who traded with Apple and the suspect. They previously pleaded guilty to the practices.
