Canada First Country to Approve Pfizer Corona Vaccine for Teens
In Canada, children can soon also be vaccinated against the coronavirus. The country has approved Pfizer and BioNTech’s vaccine for children 12 and older.
Canada is the first country to approve a corona vaccine for children. The Pfizer vaccine is just as safe for teens as it is for adults, Canadian health director Supriya Sharma said.
Pfizer and BioNTech have also requested approval of the vaccine for children in the United States and Europe.
In Europe, the regulator, the European Medicines Agency (EMA), is considering this. That judgment will likely come in June. The Pfizer vaccine is already approved in Europe for anyone 16 and older.
