Kremlin Alarmed by Reports of US Cyberattacks
The Kremlin says it is concerned about The New York Times reporting that the United States is planning a series of cyberattacks on Russian networks.
The Americans would thus respond to a significant cyber-attack attributed to Russia.
According to the US, the country was involved in the hack of the company SolarWinds’ security software. This software is used by 18,000 customers, including several US government agencies.
The cyberattack would be aimed at collecting information. The Kremlin has denied all involvement.
The New York Times reported on Sunday that the United States is preparing a series of counter-attacks on Russian networks. The attacks should be carried out within the next three weeks and are accompanied by economic sanctions.
“This is alarming information,” said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. “This would be an international cybercrime.”
