Merkel Warns of Severe Winter Months During A Pandemic
German Chancellor Angela Merkel has warned that the fight against the coronavirus will be more challenging in the coming months than it was during the summer.
According to her, the virus should be prevented from spreading further while “we spend within time. At work, in schools and at home.”
Merkel said at a press conference that ensuring education was a priority.
She promised that her government would do everything to prevent “children from becoming the losers of the pandemic”. Protecting the economy and employment remains a spearhead, she says.
Germany is not one of the countries most affected by the corona crisis in Europe. The German authorities have reported the deaths of more than 9,200 patients.
In Italy, France, Spain and the United Kingdom, tens of thousands of people have died from the virus, according to official figures.
