Trump to Bolsonaro: I want to Make Brazil An Important Ally

US President Donald Trump has received his Brazilian counterpart Jair Bolsonaro in the White House, an opportunity to highlight their particularly cordial relationship.

Trump congratulated Bolsonaro on his election victory last year and even suggested making Brazil a crucial non-NATO ally, or even a NATO ally.

The ultra-right Jair Bolsonaro also called the Trump of the tropics, won the presidential election in his country last October.

Bolsonaro stands for a right-wing conservative policy, a strong security policy and a resolutely pro-American course in foreign policy. Trump confirmed that he and his Bolsonaro share many political ideas.

I want to make Brazil an essential non-NATO ally, or why not even a NATO ally.
