Michelin Will Produce Face Masks And Masks for Medical Personnel

Michelin will produce face masks and masks for medical personnel. The French tire maker announced that in a statement on Friday.

Michelin says it will donate large amounts of mouth masks to healthcare workers in countries where Michelin is located.

The production is also intended to provide its own employees with personal protective equipment. Once production has fully started, Michelin expects to be able to produce 400,000 face masks every week.

The tire manufacturer currently has ten locations in France, Germany, Poland, Italy and Romania selected for the production of the mouth caps.

Besides, Michelin has developed a new reusable mask together with other companies. Michelin says it is producing the first 5000 units of the prototype.

According to the manufacturer, the masks can be used a hundred times, thanks to washable and interchangeable filters.

At the request of hospitals in France, the tire manufacturer has started producing face shields of transparent plastic. These screens can be sterilized and are, therefore, reusable.
