Apple Slows Down the Mass Production Of iPhone

Apple will postpone the production of its top models. It will also produce fewer devices because the demand is falling.

According to the Wall Street Journal, production of the new iPhones, which are usually proposed after the summer, will be delayed by a month.

The newspaper writes this based on sources familiar with the situation. Apple would make that choice because the demand for smartphones is falling and because the production capacity in Asia is lower due to the corona crisis.

The newspaper speaks of four new iPhone models, with 5G, which will be presented this fall.

Earlier it was said that Apple would have 20 percent fewer devices made to respond to the lower demand.

Apple recently introduced a new, cheaper, iPhone SE.

This fall is the turn of the top devices. It may be that the launch is still happening around the same period, but that the devices are in the store later than usual.
