China Supports WHO Research on Coronavirus

China is supporting a comprehensive study of the global response to the Covid-19 pandemic led by the World Health Organization (WHO) after the virus causing the disease has been brought under control.

That said Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday during a video speech to the General Assembly of the World Health Organization (WHO).

Xi’s comments come as a call from the European Union and Australia to investigate the origin and spread of the coronavirus is gaining increasing international support.

The pandemic has killed more than 310,000 people worldwide.

China previously opposed calls for such investigations from Washington and Canberra, but Xi announced on Monday that Beijing is open to an impartial evaluation.
