Google is Working on a Competitor for Xbox, PlayStation and Switch. Search giant Google would at the moment work on its game computer. With this, the company wants to compete with the consoles of Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft.

The Express Paper reports this from several sources that are known with the plans.

The game computer would in any case partly use a streaming service. Games are streamed to the Google console via the internet, so players do not need discs or downloads.

With streaming, games are played on external hardware, so the game consoles in the house do not need high-quality specifications. These devices only need to receive the video stream and send pressed buttons back to Google. It is unclear what kind of hardware Google wants to use for its game computer.

The search company spoke to several large game companies at the Game Developers Conference in March. The company wanted to find out who is interested in the Google service.

We are currently looking at how Google can obtain a comprehensive game library for a platform. Besides, takeovers of non-specified game companies are also considered.

Google would not be the first with such a streaming service. Sony and Nvidia, among others, already offer a similar option for their devices.
