Erdogan Calls on Putin to Continue Talks

Turkey Wants to Guarantee Security Ukraine

Turkey is ready to guarantee the security of Ukraine in the negotiations with Russia. What that exactly means is not yet known.

According to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the details are yet to be worked out. Germany announced on Wednesday that it wants to guarantee.

Turkey is a member of NATO and has good ties with Russia and Ukraine. After the Russian invasion, it supports Ukraine but has condemned Western sanctions against Russia. This week, negotiators from both countries came to Turkey to discuss an end to the war.

Ukraine has requested security guarantees from more countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Poland. In return, Ukraine would become neutral and thus not become a member of NATO. A possible NATO membership was a reason for Russia to invade Ukraine.

Turkey wants to organize negotiations between Volodimir Zelensky and Vladimir Putin, according to Erdogan. Ukraine and Russia have previously indicated that talks have not progressed that far.
