Ukrainian Android users can now receive notifications about airstrikes in their vicinity.

Google announced the alarm feature on March 1, and it will be rolled out across Ukraine starting today.

The invasion of Russian troops into the country is accompanied by missile strikes, so millions of Ukrainians must rely on aerial sirens and warnings about attacks to find shelter in time, Kent Walker, Google’s president of Global Affairs, said in a blog post.

Android’s alarm system comes on top of existing air sirens and other warning systems the country already has and uses information distributed by the Ukrainian government.
