Italy fines €1.13 billion for Amazon abuse of power. The Italian regulator fines Amazon for favouring its own logistics services.

The fine of 1.13 billion euros comes because Amazon favours its own logistics service, Fulfilment by Amazon, on Amazon, where third-party sellers also offer products.

According to the Italian regulator, that puts other logistics services at a disadvantage and further strengthens Amazon’s dominance. Amazon itself has not commented on the conviction to Reuters.

Amazon has been under fire in recent months. For example, the European Commission is investigating whether Amazon is misusing these logistics services.

In addition, a second investigation is underway into the company’s data about third-party sellers to better compete with those sellers.
