Due to the corona crisis, tourists are staying away from Spain en masse. In November, the tourist flow dried up by 90 percent compared to a year earlier.

This after the authorities in Spain announced additional travel restrictions to stem the coronavirus’s further spread.

In the first eleven months of 2020, some 19 million foreign tourists visited Spain. That means an annual decrease of 78 percent, according to the Spanish statistical office INE.

Spending by tourists in Spain was 91 percent lower in November than the same month a year earlier.
